Frequently asked questions
What is a rem unit?
A rem equals the root font size of the page, usually 16px in browsers. Using rem instead of px makes layouts scale cleanly when users change their default text size.
Why is the root size adjustable?
Some projects set the html font-size to 10px for easier math, or use fluid type scales. Adjust the root value and every conversion updates.
How do I convert rem back to px?
Use the reverse converter at the bottom: enter a rem value and it multiplies by your root size to give pixels.
