What exactly is compared?
Only extracted text, line by line. Layout, images, fonts and formatting are ignored, so two visually different PDFs with the same text show as identical.
How is the similarity score calculated?
We compute the longest common subsequence of the two texts and divide twice that number by the total number of lines. Identical text scores 100 percent.
Is there a size limit?
The first 30 pages of each PDF are compared, and very long pages are capped at 800 lines so the comparison stays fast in your browser. Everything runs locally.
