Letters shift, everything else (spaces, punctuation, numbers) stays exactly as is. Case is preserved.
Frequently asked questions
What is a Caesar cipher?
One of the oldest ciphers: each letter is shifted a fixed number of places through the alphabet. With shift 3, A becomes D and Z becomes C.
Is it secure?
Not at all by modern standards. There are only 25 possible shifts, so anyone can brute-force it in seconds. Use it for fun and puzzles, not secrets.
Does it change numbers or punctuation?
No. Only A-Z and a-z shift. Everything else passes through untouched, and letter case is preserved.
