Frequently asked questions
Why is the checker capped at 20 URLs?
Each check downloads the target page through a free public proxy, so checking one by one with a small gap keeps it fast and fair to the free service. For bigger audits, run several batches.
Where does the status data come from?
From the free, keyless api.allorigins.win proxy, which fetches each URL and reports the real HTTP status code it received. No account or API key is needed.
A link shows as failed but opens fine in my browser. Why?
Some sites block proxy servers, so the proxy gets rejected even though the page is fine for real visitors. Treat proxy-blocked results as inconclusive, not as proof the link is dead.
