Frequently asked questions
What is a Base64 image?
Base64 is a way to represent binary data, like an image, as plain text. It is often used in data URIs (data:image/png;base64,...) so an image can travel inside code or JSON without a separate file.
Which image formats can it decode?
The tool detects PNG, JPEG, GIF, WebP and BMP from the file signature. If the bytes do not match a known image format, it tells you instead of guessing.
Is my data uploaded anywhere?
No. Decoding happens entirely in your browser with JavaScript. Nothing you paste ever leaves your device.
