Frequently asked questions
Why do I need to convert AVIF to JPG?
AVIF is efficient but not supported everywhere yet. JPG opens in every browser, editor, CMS and social platform, so converting makes the image universally usable.
My AVIF file would not decode. Why?
AVIF decoding depends on your browser, not on this tool. Very old browsers cannot decode AVIF at all. Update to a recent Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari and try again.
What quality setting should I use?
85 is a good default for photos: visually near-lossless at a much smaller size than 100. Use 90 to 95 for images with fine text or sharp graphics.
